About

Sandra Hosking is a Pushcart-nominated poet, playwright, photographer, and content strategist based in the Pacific Northwest. A former secondary English teacher turned journalist and now content manager in the education sector, she brings a multidimensional approach to storytelling across genres and formats.

Her plays have been produced across the U.S. and abroad, including at the Last Frontier Theatre Conference and the Samuel French Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival. She is the founder of Play-Makers Spokane and has been a resident playwright at Stage Left Theatre and Spokane Civic Theatre.

Her poetry appears in “Red Ogre Review,” “The Elevation Review,” “Havik,” “Black Lion Review,” “The Ana,” and more. Her award-winning short screenplay Dig has been selected for several film festivals, including the Sacramento International Film Festival, the Snake Alley Festival of Film, and more.

Her photography has been featured in publications such as “Waxwing,” “Great Lakes Review,” “3 Elements Review,” and “Cirque Literary Journal,” and is represented on Getty Images, Adobe Stock, and Shutterstock.

She has shared her expertise in communications and the arts in the classroom and elsewhere and has mentored a number of developing writers. As a journalist, her bylines span trade and regional publications, including The Spokesman-Review, Security Sales & Integration, and Glass International, showcasing her versatility across creative and technical domains.

Hosking holds M.F.A. degrees in theatre from the University of Idaho and creative writing from Eastern Washington University.

Whether on the page, stage, or through the lens, Hosking explores the emotional terrain of human experience with clarity and artistry.
