Writer News: Publications, Productions & All That Jazz

2026 has started with a creative bang with a series of publications, productions, and more.

Spokane’s theatre community rang in the new year with an interactive New Year’s Eve party featuring 1920s fun in Glitz, Glam & All That Jazz. The characters and stories were designed by Sandra Hosking, Matthew Weaver, Juan Mas, and a talented cast. The event was hosted by the Montvale Event Center, Stage Left Theater, Spokane Children’s Theatre, and Inland Classical Theatre.

Upcoming Performance

Hosking’s new monologue “It” will receive a staged reading as part of Stage Left Theater’s Empower, a festival of works written, directed, and acted by women.

The event will feature pieces by Hazel Bean, Jess Loomer, Audrey Lang, Arianna Rose, and others. Directors include Emma Dennis, Patty DeWitt-Garegnani, Elizabeth Lewis, and Victoria Scribner. Actors Deborah Brooks, Adrienne Dellwo Neal, Sheri Wohl, Ladonna Wojtowicz, and more will perform.

Empower runs March 20-29. Get tickets at stagelefttheater.org.
